Since our founding in 1999, we have served well-known corporations and fast growing start-ups with procurement spend of $10 million to over $5 billion. We combine broad expertise in supplier evaluation, quantitative analysis, RFQ process, contract negotiation and in other areas to achieve important, often breakthrough results. As fully independent consultants, we do not maintain alliances with or receive income from vendors. While most assignments involve electronics we occasionally work in other industries. Advanced Supply Chain Analytics

For a high mix power products company, CMC showed how to revamp forecast and demand loading methods, cut China EMS supplier lead-times in half and fix MRP deficiencies for 2X improvement in finished goods inventory turns.

Assessing the Financial Feasibility of Outsourcing

A Fortune 500 company wanted to understand the financial impact of outsourcing their complex electro-mechanical equipment to a tier-1 EMS supplier. CMC's work included in-depth survey of the client's production sites in the US, Asia and Europe; then, multi-year cost modeling of best / worst case differences in product costs and cash flows. Final report included sensitivity analysis and likely transition risks.

New Product Line at Risk

BOM cost was 20% too high. CMC assessed further cost reduction potential of redesign, then stratified parts and suppliers for differential procurement actions including price re-negotiations and second sourcing for a Fortune 50 corporation.


Finding the Right Contract Manufacturer

Requirements analysis, RFQ guidance, in-depth factory audits, financial analysis and other supplier risk assessment work to evaluate EMS providers for a leading storage products company. Created contract draft and assisted in price negotiation.

Investment Due-Diligence

Assessed operations capabilities, risks to growth and competitive advantages of a large multi-site EMS company for possible acquisition by a private equity venture capital firm.


Industry Expert Witness

EMS supplier lawsuit against an OEM customer. Assessment of $30 million damages from excess inventory, excess manufacturing costs and loss profits due to alleged customerís defective product designs, excessive product and schedule changes. Work included forensic review of 10,000 pages of deposition testimony.
