Our factory audits focus on areas most important to our client’s
outsourcing program success as identified in requirements analysis. These
areas typically include rigorous audit of manufacturing process controls
(e.g. SMT set-ups, reflow profiles, PCB and electronic parts handling &
repacking moisture sensitive, etc.), 2nd-tier supplier management practices,
engineering services (e.g., thermal & reliability modeling) and logistics
(e.g., hubs, VMI). Factory audit of other important, but less differential
processes is performed as needed to validate good practices. These might
include order entry procedure, configuration management, customer returns,
etc.
Clients can participate in the factory audits to the extent they prefer. Many clients prefer that we conduct initial time-intensive factory audits to screen candidates down to 2-3 top candidates, while other clients prefer involvement in all supplier qualification and assessment stages.
